Childminder Tamara
Hello, I am Tamara Willemsen, I am married and have a son who was born in 2015 and a son in 2025. After earning my SPW3 diploma, I worked at Kinderopvang Wageningen and Skar at various locations. At Kinderopvang Wageningen, I worked in after-school care (BSO) and at different daycare locations. At Skar, I worked full-time at a daycare center. Since 2013, I started as a nanny at home and since 2018, I have been providing childcare at my home in Wageningen as a nanny. Working as a nanny gives me a lot of freedom. Working according to my own rhythm and pedagogical vision. Every day, I actively care for children and am responsible for their daily care. With the care, I also offer guidance in the development of the child, tailored to individual needs.
Are you looking for a suitable professional childminder? And would you like to know more about me? Feel free to contact me.
Childminder in Wageningen with a homely atmosphere
We live in De Hoef in the De Weiden district in Wageningen. It is a child-friendly neighborhood with a nice playground behind my house. From here, I have every opportunity to undertake activities with the children. With my carrier bike(especially for childeren), we are quickly in the forest or in the park in Noordwest. Or to one of the other fun children’s outings in Wageningen.
Most parents looking for childcare come from Wageningen themselves, but I have also had parents from Bennekom, Ede, Renkum and Rhenen who work in Wageningen.
In my daycare, I regularly have children whose parents come from abroad and study or work at the university. The main language we speak here is, of course, Dutch, but English is also no problem for me.
We have a beautiful child-friendly garden with toys where children can playfully learn together and develop into preschoolers.

Key aspects of my childminding service
Learning through Play
I find it important that there is not only a focus on learning. Through play, children can be stimulated to learn in many ways and also develop their social skills. Activities such as singing also contribute to the social and cognitive development of the children.
Attention for Every Child
Because my home-based childcare offers small-scale childcare, I give a lot of attention to every child. A child will not receive this personal attention at a daycare center.
Daily Activities
I don’t have a fixed activity program. However, I do work with themes that change every few weeks. I find structure and routine very important so that your child knows what to expect.
Love and Care
By providing love and care, I want to offer children a pleasant place. Where they feel safe and at home and enjoy coming to.
Children Aged 0 to 4 Years
In my childcare, I try to vary the different age groups. This way, every child also interacts with various age groups.
Qualified Childminder
Of course, I have an SPW3 diploma and a children’s diploma First Aid for childcare, so I always know what to do in an emergency. In 2022, I also obtained my VVE Certificate (pre- and early school education) and the Piramide certification for childminders.
Childminder Agency
Of course, I am affiliated with a childminder agency so that the care meets all requirements and parents are entitled to childcare allowance.
Municipal Health Service Inspection
The childcare location is regularly checked by the GGD (Municipal Health Service) to ensure all safety and hygiene requirements are met.
Outdoor Play
You will regularly find us outdoors. I love playing outside and being in nature.
What is childminding?
Childminder care is a form of childcare where a childminder provides care for children in a home environment. The childminder offers a safe and familiar environment where children feel at home and can develop optimally. With this small-scale childcare form, the childminder may care for a maximum of six children at the same time, resulting in a personal and safe environment. Due to the limited number of children, much attention can be given to the individual needs of each child, contributing to their well-being and development. Some childminders also offer after-school care for children who need care after school hours. Home-based childcare combines the benefits of professional childcare with the comfort and security of a homely atmosphere.
What is a nanny?
There are different forms of childminder care, so parents can choose what best suits their family situation. The most common form is care at the childminder’s home, where children are cared for in a homely atmosphere and can enjoy a familiar environment. Another option is a nanny at home, where the nanny comes to the family’s house. This can be pleasant for children who like to stay in their own, familiar environment. Additionally, there is care at a daycare center, where children are cared for in larger groups.
Whichever form of care you choose, it is important that the childminder is a professional who meets government requirements. This means, among other things, that the care location must be safe and hygienic and that the childminder is registered in the National Childcare Register. By consulting the register, parents can easily check whether a childcare provider meets all requirements and whether the care location is safe. A good childminder not only provides individual attention but also contributes to the development of the child’s social skills and emotional security. This way, you can be sure that your child is in good hands and can develop in a safe, familiar environment.
Nanny or daycare?
Home-based childcare offers numerous advantages compared to other forms of childcare. One of the biggest advantages is the personal attention each child receives. In a small-scale setting, there can be a full focus on the individual wishes and needs of each child, ensuring more flexible and personal care. This is often lacking in larger daycare centers. Additionally, home-based childcare is often more affordable, making it an attractive option for many parents. The flexibility in care hours is another major advantage, especially for parents with irregular working hours. Childminder care offers a warm, homely atmosphere in a familiar environment where children feel safe and secure, which contributes to their enjoyment and development.
Costs and financing
The nanny costs can vary depending on the nanny and the childcare location. The hourly rate of childminder care can vary per childminder and depends on various factors, such as experience, location, and additional services. In general, the nanny rate is lower than that of daycare centers, making nanny care an affordable option for many parents. The costs are usually calculated per hour or per day, and parents can make use of childcare allowance. This allows you to get a portion of nanny or childcare costs back.
Childminders receive compensation for their work, and parents may be entitled to a reimbursement through childcare allowance. It is important to make clear agreements about the costs and financial arrangements beforehand. This ensures transparency and prevents surprises afterwards. Due to the lower costs and the possibility of childcare allowance, home-based childcare is a financially attractive choice for many families.
Is childminder care professional childcare?
The quality of childminder care is crucial for the development and well-being of the children. Childcare agencies like ViaViela and Dolfijntjes Ede and Take Care play an important role in ensuring this quality. A nanny agency ensures that the strict requirements for nannies are met and that nannies are registered with the National Childcare Register (LRK). All nannies must also have completed a relevant nanny training. Childminders receive annual training to keep their knowledge and skills up-to-date, ensuring their professionalism is guaranteed. Additionally, the care locations are regularly inspected to check if they meet safety and quality standards. These measures allow parents to trust that their children are in good hands and in a safe and stimulating environment, and childminder care can be regarded as professional care.
