The Four R’s in My Pedagogical Vision: Rest(Rust), Cleanliness(Reinheid), Regularity(Regelmaat), and Respect(Respect)

At Lovely4Kidz in Wageningen, I believe it’s important that children grow up in a loving, safe, and predictable environment.
My pedagogical vision is based on the classic four R’s: Rest(Rust), Cleanliness(Reinheid), Regularity(Regelmaat), and Respect(Respect).
These values form the foundation of my childcare and give children the space to develop at their own pace.

For me, rest is an important part of a safe and warm environment.
– I provide cozy corners where children can retreat for a moment.
– There are set times for naps and relaxation.
– By intentionally keeping my service small-scale, each child receives personal attention.

I find hygiene and tidiness essential to keep children healthy and to provide a pleasant play environment.
– I regularly clean toys and materials.
– I teach children to wash their hands and to handle things neatly.
– I focus on healthy meals and snacks.

I believe children thrive in an environment with a fixed daily rhythm.
– With me, there are fixed times for eating, sleeping, and playing.
– I use songs and rituals to guide children through the day.
– The structure helps children to discover new things with confidence.

I see every child as an individual with their own talents and emotions.
– I truly listen to children and take their feelings seriously.
– I teach children to treat each other and nature respectfully.
– I also work closely with parents; I find good communication important.

The Four R’s in My Childcare
The four R’s are reflected in my daily work:
– Comforting a child when saying goodbye to mom or dad.
– Preparing healthy meals.
– Reading aloud in a quiet corner.
– Tidying up together after a fun morning of play.

This approach gives children a sense of safety, trust, and joy. This way, I create a place where they can develop, discover, and simply be children.
